Pahartoli Textiles Limited Achieves LEED Platinum Certification
Pahartoli Textiles Limited, a 100% export-oriented spinning mill of one of Bangladesh’s leading industrial groups, Ispahani Group, located at North Pahartali in the port city of Chattogram, has achieved a significant milestone in environmentally responsible and sustainable production. The Production Unit-2 of Pahartoli Textiles Limited has been awarded the prestigious LEED Platinum Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
On 9 August 2026, the certificate was formally handed over to Mr. Mirza Salman Ispahani, Chairman of Ispahani Group, by Mr. Mahendra Jayalath, Chairman, Green Building Council, Sri Lanka.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Mirza Shakir Ispahani, Managing Director of Ispahani Group; Mr. Mirza Ahmed Ispahani, Director of Ispahani; Engineer Belayet Hossain, Chairman of Chattogram Development Authority (CDA), along with distinguished industrialists of Chattogram, LEED Platinum consultants, architects, senior bankers, senior officials of Ispahani Group, and other distinguished guests.
The LEED Platinum certification recognizes Pahartoli Textiles Limited’s commitment to maintaining high standards in environmentally responsible manufacturing through energy-efficient machinery, the use of renewable solar energy, and sustainable production practices.
Established in 1954, Pahartoli Textiles Limited has been playing an important role in Bangladesh’s textile industry for decades. The company currently provides employment to approximately 1,800 people. Operated through modern technology and efficient production systems, Pahartoli Textiles Limited has five production units, with an annual yarn production capacity of approximately 23,000 metric tons.
Approximately 70% of the company’s raw materials are sourced from environmentally responsible sources. In addition to modern eco-friendly machinery, the facility utilizes recovered exhaust gas from captive generators in its production process. The company also has a rainwater harvesting and conservation system with a capacity of 1 million liters, along with a green environment enriched with more than 12,000 trees. These initiatives have further strengthened the company’s appeal to leading international apparel brands.
This achievement by Pahartoli Textiles Limited marks another significant step forward for Bangladesh’s industrial sector in advancing sustainable management and environmentally responsible manufacturing practices.
