Ispahani Tea Limited has extended support for maternity care at Matlab Hospital, icddr,b, a pioneering centre for healthcare and research in Bangladesh. Established in 1963, the hospital has made significant contributions to global health, particularly in the areas of maternal and child healthcare.

Since the introduction of Maternal and Child Health (MCH) services in 1987, Matlab Hospital has provided essential maternity care to women in the Matlab community, including antenatal care, laboratory tests, ultrasonography, normal delivery, and postnatal care, all free of charge with meals.

Over the years, the hospital has cared for more than 200,000 pregnant women and conducted over 20,000 normal deliveries. Currently, around 3,000 women receive antenatal care and approximately 600 deliveries take place at the facility each year. Ispahani Tea Limited’s support will contribute to ensuring continued access to quality maternal healthcare while supporting research and improved health outcomes for mothers and newborns.
