Mirza Shakir Ispahani has served as the Honorary Consul for the Federal Republic of Germany in Chattogram since 2007.

ColoCity, the first carrier-neutral public colocation facility in Bangladesh, commenced operations on March 30, 2009, with strategic technical support and guidance from AIMS Data Center of Malaysia. Initially providing reliable power and cooling, ColoCity has since evolved through partnerships with Microsoft and Dell, deploying the first and only Microsoft Azure Stack Hub service in Bangladesh.
His interest in technology, particularly IT, began years before ColoCity’s establishment in Bangladesh. During his undergraduate studies at Bentley University, he pursued a Computer Science minor alongside his BS in Economics and Finance. Subsequently, he earned an MS in Information Systems from Boston University’s School of Management. His education and work experiences from 1995 to 2003 in Boston coincided with the broadband rollout and the onset of the .COM revolution. Upon returning to Bangladesh in 2003, he eagerly embraced a role in the internet revolution, crucial for the country’s development, as later articulated in its visionary policies aimed at achieving “Digital Bangladesh.”
