Curtain falls on ‘Ispahani Mirzapore Banglabid’

The final round of knowledge-based reality show titled, “Ispahani Mirzapore Banglabid” (an expert of Bangla) was held at the capital’s Bangabandhu International Conference Center yesterday.

MM Ispahani Limited and Channel i jointly organised the event to inspire youths to use Bangla language in their everyday activities.

The show started in February with 35,000 participants and on the final day, Susrat Sayem, a student of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College, became the winner.

At the event, Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor stressed the need for spelling and pronouncing Bangla words correctly.

Terming the style of language used in different dramas improper, he urged everyone to discard such use of language. “Otherwise, the new generation will be confused,” he said.

Faridur Reza Sagor, managing director of Channel i, also spoke.

Dhaka University Bangla Professor Dr Soumitra Shekhar, agriculture development activist Shykh Seraj and eminent actress Suborna Mustafa were the judges.

Ispahani receives National Productivity and Quality Excellence Award 2020

Pahartali Textile and Hosiery Mills, an export-oriented venture of MM Ispahani Limited won the National Productivity and Quality Excellence Award 2020. 

Ispahani Group Managing Director Shakir Ispahani received this prestigious award from Minister of Industries Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun on Sunday, reads a press release.

Ispahani achieved the second position in the Large Industry (Textile & RMG) category, the press statement added.

The Ministry of Industries, under the authority of the Government of Bangladesh has awarded a total of 26 organisations for showing excellence in productivity and quality.

The award-giving ceremony, arranged by the National Productivity Organization (NPO), was held in the capital’s Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel on Sunday (29 May).

Minister of Industries Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun graced the event as the chief guest.

The state minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Mojumdar was also present at the event as the special guest.

Secretary of the Ministry of Industries Zakia Sultana presided over the function.

Director of Ispahani Group Zahida Ispahani, Chief Operating Officer of Pahartali Textile and Hosiery Mills Mahbubul Alam, Deputy General Manager Monirujjaman Khan, and other officials of Ispahani Group were also present at the event.

Previously, Ispahani Tea Limited, another concern of Ispahani Group, won the first position in the Large Industry (Food) category of the ‘National Productivity and Quality Excellence Award 2019’.

Following that, Ispahani Group’s export-oriented unit ‘Pahartali Textile and Hosiery Mills’ won the National Productivity and Quality Excellence Award 2020.

Ispahani’s Ghazipore, Neptune tea gardens win Green Factory Award 2020

Ispahani Group’s Ghazipore and Neptune tea gardens have won the ‘Green Factory Award 2020’ respectively.

The labour and employment ministry conferred the award to a total of 30 organisations in six sectors at a ceremony at Osmani Memorial Auditorium on Wednesday.

The company won the awards for its two tea gardens and factories in the tea category of the award as a recognition of their commitment towards the labour-friendly environment and the climate, said a press release.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina joined the event and delivered her speech virtually as the chief guest while State Minister for Labour Begum Monnujan Sufian and Labour Secretary Ehsan-E-Elahi handed over the award.

While receiving the awards, Mirza Salman Ispahani, chairman of the Ispahani Tea Limited, expressed his gratitude to all who are serving tirelessly in the tea gardens and tea factories.
