The Ispahani family boasts a rich commercial history in South Asia, dating back to 1820. In 1900, Mirza Mohammed Ispahani established the Calcutta office of M.M. Ispahani & Sons.
The company’s trajectory took a significant turn in 1918 when Mirza Mohammed Ispahani’s eldest son, Mirza Ahmed Ispahani, joined the partnership. Under his leadership, M.M. Ispahani & Sons transformed into a private limited company named M.M. Ispahani Limited in 1934.
Following the partition of India in 1947, the company’s corporate headquarters relocated to Chittagong, Bangladesh, where it remains today. M.M. Ispahani Limited has grown into a multifaceted conglomerate, holding ISO 9001 certification and maintaining central hubs in Chittagong, Dhaka, and Khulna. The company’s reach extends across diverse sectors, including tea, food, textiles, jute, matches, real estate, poultry, and shipping, employing over 10,000 individuals.
